Oklahoma

Last night we went to the play Oklahoma put on by our own local talent. We were treated to dinner by Betty and Brent. Ran into Scott and Sara later in the bar and had a short but fun visit with them. The play was amazing. We loved every minute. We sat near Natalie and Ward and had a neat visit with them too. Wes Hathaway, Nat's son, my nephew is in the green plad shirt. John Douglas' son Ian is the far right guy in the plaid shirt and light hat. It was a splendid evening.
Bob is flying for the third day in a row with CAP. He's loving that.
Just a little fyi..it was 5 this morning when we got up. Tis the season.

Cattle Drive with Prices's

Horseback at 0 dark thirty..if you look hard you'll see Bob on Chaco here.

The day just got awesome. The cows moved easily. We were almost an hour early getting to the main ranch. DeeAnn had a wonderful meal waiting for us.

On the other side of the cows you'll see Chuck Bachleor on a 4 wheeler.

I just sat and visited with Barbara Kitchen while some of the guys went out to rope and doctor sick calves.

Drive to Bullhead City AZ

Sally captured this shot of Barry Nelson and I ordering our dinner at Avi. I took a couple of pictures but my phone didn't do well in that subdued light. Barry and Nancy met Reeds, myself, and Sally and Pete. We had a delightful evening at a very nice place at the Avi resort. Can't remember the name of the resturant.
A note to anyone reading this who doesn't know, Barry and I went to Wasatch together in the fifties. Long time friendship.

Faith and Allen discussing what they wanted.

After I found Barry and Nancy at their RV resort, Allen and Barry had a good chuckle.

Sally came over to Reeds for a visit on Saturday afternoon.

Bob took me to Reeds at 5:00 a.m. on Friday. We actually got away about six. It was a 13 hour drive to their home in Bullhead. I sort of thought Faith and I might stop for the night along the way, but she did fine and so did I, so we just kept going.  Allen, who was pulling a trailer was about an hour and a half behind us. But I had the truck unloaded when he got there.  We went to eat, and then hit the hay.

A little catch up..this and that

This picture is actually the other day flying. We were going to fly yesterday, then we got to the airport, no one was there..we needed to fuel the plane..there were other planes in front of ours in the hanger..etc etc..we hung it up for the day. But I could have taken a photo similiar to this had we gone. :)
Tomorrow I'm playing bridge. Yesterday I did play pinochle..had a good score, but didn't win money.
Friday I'm driving Faith Reed to Bullhead City. Allen in taking a truck and trailer and we're taking the little truck she drives. I'm looking forward to the trip. Have no idea if we're going in one day or two. We can make it work. Allen will drive the whole way Friday. That trip is hard for Faith, so I'm expecting to spend the night along the way. I'm flying back on Sunday to Idaho Falls where Bob will pick me up.
Tomorrow Bob is riding on the drift for Ty Swain. He'll ride with Michael who rides for Albert Sommers...they'll have a good time. I'm sorry I'm not going.

Betty and Brent's thirtieth anniversary

I had intended to post one of these photos from Betty and Brent's wedding today. Thirty years ago. Where has the time gone? Anyhow, Betty posted this one of fb, so I snagged it rather than scanning some of mine and stuck it here to mark the occaision.
So kids, happy anniversary!!!

Morning Flight

Yesterday we had lunch at the Pointe with Charm. It was good to visit with her. She was hurrying because she had to meet with David. She is nominating him for the Governor's Arts Awards. Hope that pans out for them both. She did this for Lynn Thomas years ago.
This morning we went for a morning flight. I had visions of getting a good shot of the cutting grounds where the ranchers are cutting out their cows that have come down on the drift. It's neat from the air, but really doesn't show much. My phone also isn't much of a camera.

A ride up Willow Creek

When I got home from the pool this morning, Bob said "How would you like to saddle up and go up the the Z-U and your old place?" One of my very favorite things, for sure. We had our lunch on the old bunkhouse step at the Z-U. Part of that ranch is in much disrepair, but they've actually done some restoring to some things. New roof on the lodge and playhouse. The hill house has new windows and chinking. Looks like they plan to put a real foundation under it.  Got a kick out of the bat houses hung on several buildings. They work!

Had to take a shot of our old barn as we're riding across the meadow.
Truley a neat day.

Bridge and Zuma Zuma

Becky hosted bridge yesterday and here are several shots. This one is of Bill and Carrie Budd. Kay Robinson's back. Bonnie Budd and Tex Williams are in the background.

Ellen, Bonnie and Tex.

Kathy Pompey, Lora Grindstaff and Mike Pompey.

Tex, Bonnie, Becky and Ellen. It was a neat afternoon.

When I got home, I met Betty at the Stockman's. We had dinner and a couple of drinks before going over to the PFAC program, Zuma Zuma. It was a great program. I had a neat day.

Then in the evening we had a light show...ie thunder and lightening that lasted over an hour and a half. Wild winds came along for the ride. Later, after midnight we had another cell come through that wasn't as strong, but the lightening lasted almost an hour.

Saturday and Sunday

Saturday we had Artists' Guild at the VFW. I thought when I took these I got everyone in them. Charm is there by Carolyn, and she's not in my photos A couple came later too that aren't pictured.

Sunday the guys came in out of hunting camp. They had a really good time, but saw very little game. I was watching their progress on the Spot and deducted they'd get to Elk Heart at 4:00.  I drove in and parked and got out in time to shoot this photo. I was there at least 30 seconds before they appeared.
