Scissors

Well, this is a different blog for me today.  Thought these scissors might be of interest to some of you.  There is a story behind the middle pair.  They now belong to me.  Most of my life, they were my mother's, and she would smile when she related how she came upon them.  It was simple.  They were a gift from my dad, right after they were married.  Note the word "after".  He had bought them for a former girl friend, Maxine McCurtain.  And he told her that.  Humm.
The smallest pair, were my grandmother's...on my mother's side.  And somewhere, I have an identical pair, with much more ware on them...the gold wash is worn off; that were my dad's mother's.  If I can locate them, I'll do another picture with all four.  I'm wondering if maybe I gave this pair to one of my girls, because they are no where that they should be...sewing, knitting, or tatting stuff.
The third, and largest pair were Bob's mother's.  They are button hole scissors.  Aren't they interesting?  We don't know if she used these a lot, or if they were something she bought at an estate auction.  She bought much stuff like that at auctions.  However, at one time she did a lot of sewing.  I think I have twenty embroidery hoops that she bought at one....which indicates that these could have come from anywhere.  Bob  does not remember what she sewed with...natch!!!
