Cowboying with Michael

Yesterday was about as perfect a day to be horseback as there is. Gene Pearson came over too, because Bob was helping David put in some windows. We got the heifers from across the road in Paul's, brought them to the corral and had them preg tested. They got ivamexed and two shots, new ear tags, and taken back across the highway.
I was crossing the river and got this of the bulls leading the heifers back to pasture.

Ride from New Fork to Little Flattop and Big Flattop

We started late, but took our rifles in case we ran into elk. Of course, since we had rifles, that didn't happen. Lots of deer however! This photo overlooking our old place was taken from our picnic spot on Little Flattop. We were hunkered down beneath a large rock out of the wind which was cruel. Later it let up, and our ride lasted longer than we imagined. We took the four wheeler rather than horses this day. Riding down the hill to the old ranch, you get a good view of what the burn did to Indian Lookout.

We rode into Coal Mine Creek, and what's left of the Camp Stool Bar camp that Tommy Oneil had there.

From Big Flattop, there's still that wonderful view of our place.

This was taken from the New Fork Lake rim looking east. We thought the green that the fire didn't get was interesting from this view.

Over due blog

Pop Eye!!! Pop Eye and Olive Oil!!

I did get home yesterday late morning....the trip was easy. I did leave late in the morning from Mojave Valley after doing a few things around the house I deemed important. Sally and Pete protesting the whole time! :) A little glitch in Las Vegas when the exit to I-80 was closed with no detour instructions. I got ahold of Pete for suggestions, and then it was easy. Las Vegas isn't easy no matter what however. The road construction in all places was a piece of cake going north...that was the good thing. I drove eight hours to Prove...spent the night in a horrible motel, and then four hours home yesterday morning.

Sounds like Sally is doing fine...she'll just be bored for three months while recovering..but she can handle that. She has friends who didn't behave, and paid the price.

Bob was hunting when I got home...but got home a couple of hours later...meanwhile I got stuff done around here...ie two loads of laundry on the line, etc.

I need to make a grocery run...we're talking about a drive up country...but I'm not sure that'll happen.
Talked to Nanc, and she sent a couple of wonderful pictures of a Halloween party they went to last night. I'm considering posting them, as I have no new ones of mine!
I got caught up on Lynn's blog....wow have you guys been busy. Maybe now I can help you!
