Well, Nashville greeted us with a ten year ice storm, Pandora. The walks were treacherous. These two photos were taken outside the Museum of Country Music.
Betty and Nancy tried on some cute hats.
The weather was bad enough and the streets were so icy and dangerous the shuttles all shut down. As a matter of fact, Nashville shut down Friday night. No one could get to work..power outages around. We were fortunate our hotel didn't lose power, and had a good restaurant.
Inside the golf cart...the exhaust was getting to Jane in the back.
Printers Alley was very close to our hotel, and we could walk to a Blues place for awesome music and drinks. There were kids who belonged to the workers there who were sledding on this little hill and thought it was heaven just for them.
The girls got us all umbrellas...which were a god-send.
Sunday morning, the ice was mostly gone...so were the people...we were walking on Broadway and it was enjoyable. A few shops were open, and a few bars.
It truly was an epic trip. The weather there was a bummer but we had such a great time nonetheless. We walked in the rain - ice - snow--bought the umbrellas - listened to all kinds of music - met interesting people, and most importantly..had such a great time just being together. The Grand Ole Opry was an event. Awesome beyond words. I'll do a little on that in a future post.
When we got home last night around midnight, it was about -12. This morning it was -22...here. It was colder at Betty and Brent's.
