Cowboying up Teepee Creek

The end of a long day...the flowers were phenominal...Todd Sterns, Bob, and Taylor Selby catching a breath after leaving the herd.  We all did fall in with the cattle Garlie Swain had, and pushed with him.
Roney has been behind cattle for about five or six hours here.  Was definately a new experience for him.  He didn't mind cattle, plastic sacks being shaken to move cattle, but he didn't like being alone.  Bob did some work with him on that...he will learn.  He and Toots are becoming fast friends.  They drink out of the water bucket together..

More of the ride up Jack Creek

I got quite a kick out of these pictures Betty and I took of each other, after we got down to the "rock" where we were staging another Kodak moment. Our countenances were sooo the same.
Also another picture that needed to be posted is of Brent and Betty. Brent's mule, Rosa, was enjoying a huge bite of sagebrush. You might have to double click on this picture to see that!

A Ride up Jack Creek

Brent, Betty, and Gina with the Sawtooth in the background. We drove quite a ways to the parking lot up at the end of the Packer-Miner road. We unloaded there and then headed up about nine miles to the head of Jack Creek. I did this ride on a different trail with Betty and Brent over ten years ago. Bob had never done it.
Brent is showing Bob how they ride into hunting camp in the fall which is at Water Dog Lake.  Notice Bob is riding "his" new horse, Roney.  Roney did well.  Bob didn't push him at all, and he did a pretty good job of keeping up with Brent's mule who really steps out.  I think Bob will wind up liking him!
Jack Creek literally begins with a huge hole in the rocks in the side of the mountain. It's a little tricky for old women to get down for the Kodak moment, but it's gorgeous.
This picture of Betty and Brent is just turned around from the same spot, only they are down the creek. Kizzy made the trip in good form, and tried to make sure she was in every picture.
