This is the view from their front door and porch over the lake. Their incredible cabin is sided with "boulders" from their area, and so are the out buildings. The worksmanship is beautiful.
Left to right Erma Shriver, Gina Feltner, Pat Schuler, Kathy Pompy, Bonnie Budd, Tharon Thompson, Carrie Budd, Mardell Fear, Ellen Reed, Marg Guio, Sue Hoefer, Kim Linn, and Barbara McKinley. Kim had a beautiful afternoon planned for us...to enjoy their new place, with wine and a gorgous meal. During bridge a little later, Ellen developed some health problems...eventually wound up on the couch. After we left, and I had my other passengers delivered home, I took her to the clinic. It was heart problems...and she'll be monitored for a while. At this point, I don't know how it'll play out.

Riding the drift with Prices
Charles called when the storm sent hundreds of cattle south. I missed riding Monday, because of no horse or horsetrailer. Humm, do you spoze the hunters might have those things tied up????
Yesterday, Charles had a horse in for me...and I met them at the cutting grounds. The first picture posted is at the cutting grounds at the Cora "Y". It doesn't even begin to show the number of cattle or riders there...herds were all over, with riders cutting cattle into various herds to be driven home. I of course, was with the Prices. The above picture is what we collected for Prices and Sommers, as we were heading south to the Sommer's ranch, where we had to recut them again.
This again, doesn't show what I was trying to photograph, while chasing stuff through the "sage brush forest" in Hennick Draw. Tired calves layed down...their moms stopped to eat..and it's a nightmare to navigate, especially with cattle that want to quit. Most of this sage brush is way over my head horseback.
At Sommer's, we cut Prices cow/calf pairs out first..then Sommer's yearling steers, then yearling heafers, then culls, and lastly took the Sommer's pairs to their fall pasture. I was horseback for ten hours yesterday. I rode a horse named Casey...who wore completely out by the end of the day. I was missing Toots...but glad Charles had something for me to ride. I took this picture for Jamie Burgess, who noticed the calves with their heads resting on this bull...sound asleep while the cutting was going on. Of course some moved by the time I got my camera out!!!
