Today was a day I should have had my camera. OK, I did have it at the ranch, in the car. Not good enough? Right.
Anyhow, Bob and I fed cows while Michael's crew gathered and branded. They got the big bunch done about the time we got done. As Bob and I brought the team and wagon in, we met Jennifer, who obviously was upset. She asked us if we could stay and help Vern with a prolapsed heifer. Well, of course. We unharnessed, I got on her horse, Bob walked out, and Vern came all about the same time. I was there to hold the cow incase she didn't cooperate. She couldn't get up, so it was a non issue. Vern did his thing with the expertise we know he can. I was aching to have my camera. Then I rode out and helped (?) there were more cowboys than cows with the heifer bunch...get those corraled, and watched as they branded. I again ached to have my camera. Also to be young again, and on the ground wrestling calves. Then we enjoyed Jennifer's excellent meal. Thank you Jennifer. I have a real hang up about people going to brandings to eat, and don't do anything. I think we sort of slipped into that catagory. Later I drove out to Vern's to get vaccine for our horses. We had a neat visit.
