Yard visitors

I did post a couple of these photos on fb..then decided I wanted them in my blog.  I was sitting at my computer which is very near a window, when a dark shadow went across.  These two were within scratching distance if the window had been open.  The cow looked thin, but she fed her calf well.

Our winter hay...Price's have us come out for our hay!  We got beautiful hay this year.

George Pape

My dad's birthday today.  He was born in 1911 in Bronx Wyoming, which was their place over on the Green River.  I looked for a photo I hadn't posted, and I think this is one.  They had been on a packtrip with Paul and Peggy Pape and Ben and Sally Connally.  This is the summer of 1941.  Apparently the fishing was really good.

On a different note, it was +15 when I got up this morning.  Yesterday morning it was -18.  Gotta love Wyoming.

Mosquito Lake

We drove up to Mosquito Lake yesterday.  Amazing...in November!  The Lake was mostly frozen over, but there was a small bare spot where a beaver was swimming around.  It was neat to get out and see some country.

On the way home we stopped at The Place and had dinner.  The only thing on the menue was chicken fried steak...and it was awesome...along with a good gin and tonic.  It was sooo good to get out.

Bob is cleaning the corral.  He's using Scott's dump trailer and Michael's loader.  He's making fast work of it.  He hand shovels it onto Jerry's land, building up borders...

He's dealing with a head cold..and about to turn the corner on that.

The new/old mustang

Betty has wanted an old mustang since she was in high school.  They got this from Rita and Alkie in Shreveport LA.  They drove it out yesterday, and we took a little tour.  It's a really cool car.

Nell Sandmyer Allen

Today would be my grandmother's 128th birthday today.  I couldn't find one of the pictures I was looking for, but this top one is similiar, just minus my mother as a baby.

This is more how I remember her.  It was taken the fall of 1959.

I don't plan to post old family photos on all of their birthdays, but I just happened to be thinking of her this morning, so I dug these out to post.

Cheeney moving day!

The friends and family that showed up to help Scott and Sara on their moving day was phenominal.  I need to mention they actually had a lot moved to the place earlier.

The renters hadn't moved or even packed up.  Scott put his crew to work, and we got them moved out. They began to tear up carpets, and take out wierd stuff, and that old house is back to it's original charm.  Can't wait to see it later.
