Finally, a little rain...

Our rain gauge showed a scant quarter of an inch of rain.  At least it made it smell good outside.

And we even had a fairly decent rainbow.

From the hill over Pinedale looking over the town to the west.

For once a picture turned out about the way it looked.  Except, the sun was blood red.

Gathering Bulls and Bull DAy

Bull dust...going up toward Mosquito Lake from the sedan sign.

Nearing their summer home...

One of several bull fights getting the bulls gathered on Saturday from Price's lower field.

The bulls are headed to Sommers corral.  You can see our truck and trailer up ahead...that's where the corral is.  And the corral is directly across the river from the refurbished homestead buildings.

Smoke in the air

There have been some awesome pictures of the smoke online...I haven't gotten any that compare.  This top one was taken last night when we drove up on the Mesa to look south.

We are replacing some windows in the house....I was worried about Mike out in the smoke working, while we were holed up inside.  About 4:30 I finally told him to go home!

This was taken of the mountains about the same time.

If you clicked on the video and it came up "private"....I did get the settings changed so you can see this if you are interested.  Sorry I had people blocked for a while.  When I put it private, I didn't realize that on my on blog, it would be closed there too.  So try it again!

Early morning summer solstice photo

This is a shadow of Charles Price.  He saw this shadow two years ago as we were moving the cattle into the Ridge Pasture, and has been planning a picture since then.  He knew it had to be this time of year, and early in the morning about 6:30 when the sun is low.  It's a flat faced rock facing slightly north east.  It's up the hill on Pinion Ridge from the Bend cabin.

Art Shows

Mixed Media had their annual art show in the library tonight.  Mad had another down the hall that I watched her draw last fall up at the Well's Place.  Mad's paintings are a delight.

I wish Jose didn't have her eyes closed here...but I love her art.  Double click on this and look at her art.

Oh Charm...they're wonderful...

I love the cat...absolutely love the cat.  Note the red dot!!! :)
Maybe I need to say I like your horses too Charm.  You are so talented.

Les's work is just great....love your stuff Les.

We went to David's show last night...and did get this prize winning picture.  Didn't even take one of him with his art.  Darn!  Got a really small piece!

Today...

Today was our last day taking cattle to the mountains.  We will ride gathering bulls next week and on bull day, which is taking the bulls and scattering them in the cows.  I won't miss the o'dark thirty, but I'll miss riding up country...and the ranchers...it's a good ride!

We got to the Mud Lake pasture west

Several pictures turned out pretty good today.  Moving cows up the Green River
as the sun is barely coming up.

Ty Swain in the early morning light as we were gathering...

Charles Price as the sun is coming up and we are on our way to the Mud Lake Pastures.

Kent is looking for a calf he needs to doctor.
