Saturday!!!
Jensens had a bull sale in Sullivan's arena today. Albert Sommers sold seven bulls there, and this is two of them. The sale went quite well. BZ, if you are reading this, Dale Jensen talked about running into you in Laramie! And yes, he's our closest neighbor...right across the fence. A good neighbor, I might add!
From there we went to Grace Anderson's 80th birthday party. This is Ruth Oliver and Frosty Steele.
Bob is telling Grace happy birthday. Mike Miller is looking on holding his grandbaby, and Grace's great grand baby!!!

Then we went to dinner at Lynn and Joe Thomas's, and enjoyed their new winter home. I teased Joe that most people went south for the winter, not north! We met Bonnie and Craig Scharf, who are Boulder neighbors to Thomas's. It was a fun evening. Oh, a note on Lynn's blog, she's not getting internet right now, and likely won't for several days. So don't worry about her if you notice she's not updating her blog. The phone company came in and put in phone outlets and now she can't get on line. Wouldn't you know!!!

Mixed Media Reception
Wishing Lynn happy birthday!
I wish I'd put this post on earlier, for Lynn's birthday wish. Yesterday was the day!! I did talk to her, and we'll do something later to celebrate!
Meanwhile...this is from my journal!
Went to the retirement center. Stopped at Ed’s office. After lunch we went down caught and saddled our horses and went to Michael’s. We went out to get the cows that had the replacement heifers and brought them in to wean the calves. I groaned when he called, as it was the first lousie day and a long while. However, it turned off really nice, and I enjoyed every minute. Well, almost. A few got out of the corral. I took Toots down into the bog to get them. I was leading her through the bog, and got my foot tangled in long grass and I fell really hard. I thought I threw my left shoulder out. I was able to get up and back on though, so I guess it’s just badly wrenched. It was awfully painful for about a half an hour, and then settled to a throb that was doeable. We turned the horses back into Jerry’s.
We came home for something to eat, and went to the play, The Sound of Music. It was nothing short of wonderful. Megan Grassell, Carmen Hittle, Valerie Lee, Leslie Rosier, Sue Briggs, Gene Andrews, Rollie Myers and Sue Holtz were the main characters that I knew. We sat with Paul and Bette Hagenstein whose daughters played great parts. David made most of the set.

Somebody turned 50 yesterday!!!
November 11th. Tuesday. We put food and water in the garage and locked The Cat out there. Then about six thirty we left for Idaho Falls. The roads were wet a lot of the way, as there was a light rain most of the way. We went to Wal-Mart and did a little shopping for necessary stuff there. Then to the Eye Clinic for my yearly appointment. My eyes are status-quo again, which is good. I was in the chair getting my pressure tests when my cell phone rang. It was Betty calling from Idaho Falls; she was in Michael’s, and wanted to know what size sewing machine needles she needs. She was across the street from us. Then we went over to the mall and Lens Crafters for new glasses. Dr. Davis and the doctors at the eye clinic don’t do refractions, and because I needed new glasses, I needed the optomolists at Lens Crafters. He was booked for the day, so they sent me to Sears to that doctor. I liked him a lot...got my prescription and headed back to get glasses made. They are so expensive, but certainly worth it to me. Age is taking it’s tole, and I was in bad need of new glasses. We ate a wonderful lunch at Corinos, which is where we ate with Pat Jackson a few years ago. We had a list of things to look for, and got quite a bit done. However, time was running out, and we just decided to spend the night. We got a motel room in the Driftwood, where we always stayed when we still toted a dog...no Dell this year! It looked like a palace after the one I stayed at in Provo. We had dinner at Applebees. Not as good as lunch, but still good.
November 12th. Wednesday. Happy Birthday Big Scott!
We had a hot waffle breakfast at the motel. We like their breakfasts! Then over to Sportman’s Wearhouse and Office Max. We went back to the mall and I got levis and underware. We had lunch at TGIF and then headed home. We got home a little after three. We had been betting on snow on the rim...and it was bare and dry. Who knew? Bob put up the computer chair I bought. I got on line and tried to order one like it for him...they don’t carry burgundy any more, so I ordered a brown one. Also ordered a computer desk that should get here next week. These stores are something...they had one, but only a floor model...they don't let you have that one. They don't order them for you....if you don't want to come back to the store to pick them up. They told us shipping would be free. NOT if you live out of the zone, I found out. We're not exactly in the shipping zone from Denver. Anyhow, I can hardly wait!

More cattle work
There have been times every day I should have had my camera, but when we're working, I don't like to take time to take photos....so I haven't been bringing the camera.
We've been at Michael's at day break to work cattle the last few days...and he shipped today. The first couple of days the weather was gorgeous. Today it was a raincoat day all day. Well, at least it wasn't snowing.!!!
Tomorrow Jennifer goes to the hospital in Rock Springs for tests...she's been awfully sick all fall. Then Tuesday we preg test...then Wednesday I have bridge at Betty Kerback's. Thursday we move cattle with Charles Price. DeeAnn always has such a wonderful dinner for us on that ride.
Yesterday after we got home from Michael's, I showered, dressed up...thanx Sally for the new jacket which was the talk of the meeting...and went to Artist Guild at Madeleine Murdock's. Her new down stairs is finished, and it is lovely...the whole meeting and dinner was there. We had twenty people...including Janice Kanski, who is improving daily. It was fun.
Meanwhile, Brian and Krishna came over here and brought pizza and watched a Nebraska football game with Bob. So he enjoyed that a lot too.

Cowboying with Michael
Yesterday was about as perfect a day to be horseback as there is. Gene Pearson came over too, because Bob was helping David put in some windows. We got the heifers from across the road in Paul's, brought them to the corral and had them preg tested. They got ivamexed and two shots, new ear tags, and taken back across the highway.

Ride from New Fork to Little Flattop and Big Flattop
We started late, but took our rifles in case we ran into elk. Of course, since we had rifles, that didn't happen. Lots of deer however! This photo overlooking our old place was taken from our picnic spot on Little Flattop. We were hunkered down beneath a large rock out of the wind which was cruel. Later it let up, and our ride lasted longer than we imagined. We took the four wheeler rather than horses this day.
Riding down the hill to the old ranch, you get a good view of what the burn did to Indian Lookout.
