Little more snow.

Last night at six p.m. it was raining as I was feeding our horses. Later it turned into a wet snow as I grilled steaks. Bob is at the airport plowing as I write this. I go out to the well site to filter water for the afternoon shift. I go again tomorrow morning, which may be pushing the envelope a little. Guess I didn't realize what I was doing as I signed up on the sheet. Anyhow, I am liking it. It a definate change from anything I've ever done. As long as it's enjoyable, we'll keep doing it. :)

Somebody's having a birthday!

Happy Birthday Thad! I realized my photos of you aren't too recent.

Springtime in the Rockies. Water is running all over...thirty seven degrees as I write this. February thaw? Global warming?

Happy Birthday Jane!!

The filter.

Hope you did something fun today!

I spent the last two days out in the Johna Field. Bob and I are signed on as part timers..or in their terms, SSE...short service employees. Mostly so far we wait for something to happen. We were going to start the operation up this afternoon..technically after my shift, but I hung around to see it start up. Aaron told me to turn on the valve...a big honor...starting it up...everything new. The valve was frozen, and we couldn't get it turned...afraid too much force would break it. It's not one of those large ones you turn with a big pipe wrench. Bob went out for the next shift, so he probably did it. As Sally says..stay tuned! :)

Gorgeous day snowmachining!

Gina on New Fork Lake
Bob made it up the bank...guess who didn't!
This is one of the water filters we'll be working with. The water will be pumped into it, and out. There are six filters in it, and are roughly six inches in diameter, and the length of the apparatis.

Old Photos

I've had fun going through some old photos and decided to pick a couple and put on here! Tana, do you remember riding Rusty?

Let's see. We went to an orientation meeting at Aaron and Sandy's for water filtration out on the anticline. There were ten of us there. It was so cold, we didn't go out to the filter for hands on work with it. We'll do that at a warmer time.
Charm had bridge here. All of our regulars were here except Pat. She fell hard, about an hour before we played, and called to say she couldn't come. Luckily, she didn't break anything.

We went to Nomi's funeral. It was beautifully done. Then a reception at Rendezvous Point. Many many people there.

Yesterday we hooked up the horse trailer in the dark at -20 and went out to Michael's to load a beef. We hauled her over to Dana's cold storage in Thayne to be butchered. It was a gorgeous drive. We saw two elk feedgrounds...ahh yes, another herd of elk, and three moose. Later in the afternoon we went out and visited with Keith Anderson. We haven't paid enough attention to him, and he's missing us big time.

Today we go in for a "drug" test....yes, we have to submit to that...and later I'm playing bridge. I'll pick up Pat, who decided to go, but didn't want to drive.

Frost on Window

O.k. so I take photos of strange things...this is a little bit of frost that I thought was beautiful.

Winter Sunrise

If you look hard enough, there is some good in all days. This was yesterday morning. We went with Sandy down to the BP center for their safety orientation. Much later in the day I found out about Nomi's death, and Adella's. There's a time for everything, but sometimes these times come too soon.

Tradin' out axels

Photographing mechanics who are intent upon their work isn't easy. Scott has a "new to him" truck..and he and his dad traded axels. It's a nice truck.

Snowing here...Bob's been plowing all day...lots of planes coming in for a funeral. The snow isn't really building up, but the runway was hard to see, so he was trying to keep the blacktop showing for the pilots. I took him lunch and then dropped by Cheeneys to see what was going on there.
