A few days in Mesquite

We started the day with breakfast at Peggy Sue's.  Loved that breakfast.  Then
we drove out to Falling Man Petroglyphs.. I love this type of country.

This is just a shot out of the car as we are traveling along on a "paved road".  It was paved, but not exactly a speedway.  We were in Betty's caddy...

I'm not posting a bunch of these..even though they were the whole purpose of going.  Maybe later. They were everywhere, and Betty said every time they go out, they find different ones.  They are truley amazing. You've probably seen pictures of all of them on Judi's blog.

Mostly I want this to show what a neat day we had.

Oscar wouldn't drink.  When we got back to the car he was so thirsty.  Speedy loved the little water pockets.

We drove miles out to the Gold Butte Ghost Town.  Betty is checking out some of the smoke spots where some of the legends have it that the Indians did some rituals there.  There were some neat little pockets in the rocks where you could see a lot of smoke.

This must have been their water source.

Wine time when we got back!  Later we went to the Eureka and gambled and had dinner.  It was a full, and fun day.  The next day we kicked around town.  We did some shopping, lunch at the...as I write this I can't think of the name, and I've asked Betty twice...but it's a sports bar.  We gambled as we ate.  I loved it.  Then we had pedicures, treats from Sara.  It was a new experience for me, but it was awesome.  My feet still feel soft and nice.  We planned to bowl, but the bowling ally was full, thanks to a soccer tournament that was in town.  We went to the house, had some wine, and almost crashed.  We had Mexican food, and then crashed.  Yesterday morning we were up, packing, Betty was cleaning, and we left about 8:00 a.m. Mesquite time.  We rolled into Pinedale about five Pinedale time.  Bob took me to the Stockman's for dinner, where Betty and Brent were eating.  So we had fun eating with them.  Kip and Bonnie Alexander were there with family and friends, and we had a long visit with them afterwards.  That was a trip down memory lane.

Drive to Jackson

As usual, the sheep were on the road.  It's fun to see them.  Let's see, this morning having breakfast, there were two bull moose out our dining room window.  Also we had deer in the yard.  Going to Jackson we saw elk, sheep, and buffalo.  It was a wildlife kind of day.  Nice lunch at Bubbas.

Palmer in my silver shop...flying over the Mosquito Lake Cow camp

Palmer decided he wanted a silver ring.  I suggested he make it.  For the most part, he did.

The fences are showing excepted where they're drifted over.  Most of the brush is covered with snow up there.

Happy birthday Scott

This was taken on Scott and Sara's wedding day!

Last night's snow.

Can you tell what The Cat thinks of the snow.  The third time out, he did get off the porch...only to make these tracks...
We have ice on all of the windows this morning.  Must have had swirling freezing rain last night.  There was a blizzard when we went to bed about ten.  The stars were out when I got up later to see what was going on.  The porch is covered with ice.  I imagine the highways are lethal.

Kirsten's tenth birthday!

We went out to Michael's last night for a small celebration for Kirstie's tenth birthday. Vivie had much fun helping her open packages.  We were treated to cupcakes that Kirstie made, as her elaborate cake will be for her party with friends today.

Thank you Judi for your help on this thing.  I went in several places in the settings, and finally found the ones I needed in Google Chrome.
This was taken several days ago.  I just posted it to see if I could, without going in blog press.

The Cat helping Bob mark his CAP map.

Well, I too am having trouble uploading pictures to my blog.  It does work through blog press on my ipad.
Charm and I had a trip to Jackson planned today.  She called to say she better not try to drive out of their place, and she was smart.  Jim came out, ran off the road once, and was an hour getting to the airport.  We'll have a girl's day another time.
I had a fun day at bridge yesterday.  Drove down to Big Piney with Ellen and Susan (Young) a new member.  My cards weren't wonderful, but the company was.
Bob's plowing at the airport today.  He's happy..he gets really tired of being cooped up in the house.
Tonight is a birthday get together for Kirsten's tenth birthday.  She's a doll.
A couple of nights ago, we had a neat evening out with Scott and Sara.  I took some meat over to put in their freezer...Michael brought our beef, and it didn't fit in ours.  Then we went to the Stockman's for dinner.  A really neat evening.  Sara and I had shrimp...to die for!  We wanted something that wasn't in our freezer.
