Trip to Idaho Falls

I didn't get any good pictures going over there..this is the best, and it's not as pretty as it looked at the time.
Gotta tell ya though...there are trips you see some game and there are trips you see much game.  This was one of those days.  We saw two herds of sheep, of course antelope and deer, just for bragging rights, a cow and last year's calf moose, elk in the Hoback, and the goats...going over and coming back.  They were about four hundred yards up the hill at Lunch Creek as we were going over, and almost on the road as we were driving home.  It's been five years since I've seen them.

It was a fun party....neat people and good food

A Morning Flight

We flew out around the mesa this morning, looking at reservoirs to see which had water, and which did not.

This is/was our old cow camp...Middle Mesa Cow Camp

After the rain last night...

The colors after the rain were amazing.  And now the lawn is greening up and needs work...grrrr.  Maybe an elf will do it!
Bridge today...I always look forward to that.  Betty K. is in Mexico but Ellen is hostess and we'll drive down.  She's a bundle of information as you drive through Daniel, and I love hearing her stories.

Flying again this morning!

And of course we had to show them our's...

Surprise surprise...we found Todd Sterns taking lessons.  He has his dad's experimental, which is now his, and the guy to the left is his flight instructor, Fred Holden, a recent Cora Wyoming resident.  Goodness, that's an unwieldie sentence, isn't it?  Was another gorgeous day to fly.  We flew up the Green and over Fish Creek Park and our cow camp.

Green River Lakes and Square Top

New Fork Lake from the air...doesn't have the same look does it?

New Fork Lake

This afternoon we drove up the Green.  Loved the drive.  One of the roads we drove up was the New Fork Lake road.  I loved the patterns the snowmachiners/ice fishermen made on the ice.  The ice is just about to sink.  This was incredible.   We had a wonderful day.  It was over 60 degrees.  Heaven!

Beautiful flight this a.m.

The air was smooth...the country gorgeous...

Driving to Idaho Falls this morning.

We saw a lot of deer, and practically nothing else in the way of wildlife.  Trees are barely beginning to bud there.  Oh...remember last week we saw the deer out on the ice at the Palisades Reservoir?  The ice is gone today.

Friday and today

Bob moving the plane from the hanger...actually the wind came up so much, we put it back and didn't fly...probably Tues...tomorrow we go to Idaho Falls again.  These pictures actually begin at the bottom of this blog.

John Douglas moving a plane out to give us room to get ours out...

Then we went to Betty Kerbacks, and these cranes were on her deck looking for lunch.

We (Betty Kerback, Ellen Reed and I) saw this porcupine on the Green River Bridge by Ross Butte.  We went to bridge at Kim Linn's and got there early, so I drove down across the bridge, and this guy was having lunch..  Humm, a lot of "bridge stuff" here, isn't there.  We were to play bridge (cards) at Kim's and then I drove down to the bridge that bridges the Green River at Ross Butte.  Of course this is now much clearer, right?  Right!  Anyhow, we had a good time!
