Golden Girls
Dr. Kappenman remarked to a mutual friend he felt like he was in a Golden Girls episode Wednesday night. I had to laugh....thinking how true that must have been.

Just another day at bridge...NOT!
I wrote this to send to the papers for letters to the editor. Yesterday was a zoo. Charm was the one who realized the problem. Erma was on the couch...Gary bless his heart, got her and Wilma to come in to the clinic. Poor Ellen, who was our hostess, just couldn't function. She gives Charm credit for saving her life. If everyone had just left, she would have gone to bed and died. I have no doubt but what she is right. Bob helped me jockey cars, and we stayed until Charm was cleared to go. We were hoping she would spend the night with us, but no one blamed her for just wanting to get the heck home. Almost immediately when the carbon monoxide started clearing out of her system, you could see her come back to herself. Ellen was sooo embarressed that it happened in her home...we had a lady there who had never played with us before..what an initation she had to our bridge club.
Everyone needs a carbon monoxide monitor in their home. If you don’t have one, buy one. Buy your parents one, buy your kids one. Jane Wardell from Big Piney has been lecturing this for years. Because of her, we have one. However this came home firmly to me yesterday. I was as always looking forward to bridge day. Names are unimportant, and everyone shall be nameless. When I arrived, the hostess wasn’t herself. Thinking nothing of it...maybe she was tired from getting ready for us all..who knows, we began to play. Our hostess was dizzy, and just not with it. Couldn’t hold her cards, couldn’t make decisions..etc. Suddenly another player is lying on the couch, overheated, and yes it was hot in there. Another hostess problem..she thought she turned the heat down, when in fact she turned it way up. Another member had a raging headache. Another player was having trouble thinking clearly. One of the gals and I decided it was time to quit. We added up scores, and five left immediately. I helped one out to her car, came back in to hear the hostess and another discussing that it happened the last time she had bridge. This gal realized it happened only when she had to use her furnace to heat a room the wood stove didn’t heat. She said "I wonder if there’s carbon monoxide in here". Immediately I knew that was right, and said "Where’s your phone?" She said in the back, and I got it. When I handed it to her, she said "What do you want me to do with this?" I grabbed it and dialed 911. I explained it really wasn’t an emergency, but we needed the house checked. Then I told the hostess I was taking her to the clinic. The other gal waited for the sheriff and the fire department. When we got there, our hostess’s carbon monoxide level was way up. I called our hostess’s house, and talked to the sheriff deputy who was there, and said to bring her up. He did. Her level was high. So I began calling everyone. Several were not going to come, they were fine thank you very much. So I called a family member, and soon everyone but one who lives way out of town was there. They were way into the night getting cleared. For whatever reason, it didn’t affect me. I was tested, but the level which wasn’t zero, wasn’t high enough to treat. Dr. Kappenman said I probably was in a pocket of clear air.
Again, the point...have carbon monoxide monitors in your home. They are inexpensive. Also, kudos need to go to our Pinedale Clinic and staff. They were soooo good and pleasant. And to the sheriff’s office, the fire department, and Gene Paul Pearson. Instead of a tragedy it was just sort of an experience. Thanx guys.

Happy Birthday Jane!
I've been hunting all morning for one particular picture to put here. Well, I've had a trip down memory lane looking for it...can't find it, but here are some. There are some I laughed so hard remembering when they were taken. Someday, maybe I'll post them. :) Anyhow, I'll get your package sent today...if I can find a box. I've only had it since the middle of December!!!

Fair amount of snow!
Charm and Lynn treated me to lunch today. What a neat time we did have. As we left, Lynn mentioned she meant to take photos. Guess what..I had my camera too, and forgot. So here is one of Bob plowing. He left at five thirty this morning to plow at the airport. Got home a little after five p.m. and is plowing!!!
Anyhow gals, thanx for the neat lunch. I loved it!

We went flying today.
Bob's been wanting to fly over a bunch of the feed grounds we haven't seen. This is part of the Wyoming range on Bob's left.
After some of the feed grounds, we had to go check out our old cow camp. Not much snow. There's some blown around the cabin and out buildings...but the fences are sticking way above the snow level.

Sunday and Monday!
Bob and I skied and snowshoed to the look at our horses who are pawing in Michael's school section. Meanwhile, as we were going along, from the south Michael rode up. He caught Twin and Nube, but couldn't catch Salude. He rode over to us...half a mile or so, and Bob caught Salude. Michael took them back to the place. It was a gorgeous day to be out.
This morning we hooked up the trailer and went to Michael's to pick up Nube who is in our corral now. This is Palmer doing school work.
Last evening we went to Betty and Brent's to celebrate Scott's 21st birthday. Bob took this photo of us of Betty, Scott, me, and Brent. She fixed us an awesome dinner. Oh, and you should see the wonderful scarf she knitted for me. Love it Betty!! Thank you!

Yesterday and today!
I've had a little trouble with the blogger last night after our planned outage! Anyhow, here are the pictures I wanted to post last night. This is Palmer working with "our" tipi! He is going to build an Indian village in our "art" class.
There goes the old explorer I've loved for almost sixteen years. The red one over by our truck is the new one. It's pretty fancy..but if I have it as long as the last one, I'll have all the buttons located.

Dance recital and Artist Guild
We had dinner with Michael and Jennifer et al at the Chinese place Friday night. We were celebrating Kirsten's birthday which was Saturday and Palmer's birthday which was the day after Christmas.
Then we went to the auditorium where Kirsten had a dance recital. That was a lot of fun, and we sure enjoyed that.
Yesterday I had Artist Guild in the Big Piney library. In the first picture you can see Nancy Espenscheid, and the blue shoulder showing is Carolyn Bing..then Mary Lynn Worl, then Mary Ann Almquist, Madeleine Murdock and Cat Urbakite.

This photo shows Judy Andrikopolus, Helena Linn, Ruth Rawhauser, Kay Meeks and DeeAnn Price's hands. She was next to me.
I was reminded of a time many years ago, my mother was on the library board for Sublette County. The new Big Piney library was newly finished, and they had the grand opening. Mother wanted me to go, and bring the girls...I had two at that point. As requested, we dressed up and went...turned out to be plenty there for a showing, and they really didn't need us, but we were there. As I was getting coffee and a cookie, I looked at Jane..probably six, running around in her new dress I was making for her...that wasn't finished. Could have died. I had her put on her coat for the rest of our stay there. Bet she remembers that!! :)
