Ride to the New Fork Lookout!

The old sign at the New Fork Lookout! The gps said elevation 9660 here.
I had to put a couple of flower photos in!!
Bob looking out over the New Fork Lookout....it's nothing but gorgeous!
Nearing the New Fork overlook we ran into several patches of snow. We ran out of flys there too.
Bob went to do the ditch, and when he got back, we saddled up, and loaded the horses and headed out. I’d made us a lunch to take along. I was supposed to go to Mixed Media, but when he wanted to take this ride, I couldn’t say no. We hauled the horses to the trail head at the New Fork Lake narrows. The flowers there were stunning. The flies didn’t get bad until we got several miles up the hill. But they were ferocious for a while. We rode up to Coyote Park, Elk Park, and the New Fork Lookout, all places I had not been. Many years ago Bob did a lot of riding in that area when he was guiding elk hunters. As we got higher up, the flowers were phenominal. I had planned to name them, and I may go through a book and try to remember what we saw. At this point, I’d forget something. We were horseback for eight hours. About four o’clock I realized I’d done too much, and literally got sick. At six thirty when we pulled into the house I was a wreck. Today, as I write this, I’m fine. Ready to do it again. Yesterday was a great day.

Nothing much...

I haven't been taking the camera, so there's no new pix to show off. But we've been riding with Michael...switching pastures with the cattle...putting the bulls in, etc. Also hunting strays, that won't be found. Bob and Michael even flew yesterday...to no avail. I've been horseback three days, and played bridge yesterday. Bob's now reshoeing the horses....

I'm much better.

Thanx for all the phone calls and offers for whatever! I appreciate it sooo much!
I feel human today...got the lawn mowed...groceries bought, and the floor vaccumed! Ride tomorrow? Maybe!

Interesting blogs

Judi Myers sent me Duene Raper's blog. Meanwhile, I decided it would be interesting to list local interesting blogs. Duene is new to blogging, but she has an awesome blog. Since it's new, it's easy to begin at the bottom and read to the present!

http://www.duene-myplace.blogspot.com/

Then there's Sally's! She says it's the place to snoop on Pete and her and what they are up to. http://wyoaqha.blogspot.com/

I have a link to Cristy's on my blog, but here it is again. She has two links on her's! The one for her kids, and one for knitting! Yes, knitting. Betty told me about that one yesterday, and it's a hoot, besides being informative! Duene, you would enjoy this one too. http://cristyanspach.blogspot.com/

The one for her kids! http://22daleroad.blogspot.com/

Her knitting blog! http://bitsoffuzz.blogspot.com/

And for heaven's sakes, you don't want to forget Lynn Thomas' wonderful blog! Love it Lynn! http://lynnslines.blogspot.com/

Judi has one to keep anyone interested updated on what she and Rollie are up to! http://www.judi-jammi.blogspot.com/

I'm considering doing one for my cat! Now wouldn't you all just dive into that first time you get on the computer in the morning? Yeah, right! :)

A busy neat day!

Ann helped me take Ruth and Pat to the Pinedale Aquatic Center to show them our new facility. Sally met us there! I said Ann helped...it was my idea, but I helped her. She made it possible. Sally is enjoying the aqua sizes (probably butchered that) daily...very early! I should start swimming...not so early! This photo is from Sally...that she sent me. I checked to make sure I blogged a different one than she did!

Immediately after I got home we left for Burnt Lake to picnic with Cheeneys and Eberhardts. Nancy et al came up from Cheyenne yesterday. We had so much fun! I was in seventh heaven. Nanc and Betty by the lake! Thad caught three fish! These macs were the first two!Thad on a rock at Burnt Lake.Brent cooked us cheddar brats on the fire...he had just started it here...but he soon had a good bed of coals.

Father's Day

Michael and Palmer wetting a line as the sun is setting over New Fork Lake!
Cooking hotdogs to go with all the other goodies! Yumm!! Marshmellows for smores!!!

Went up on the ditch with Bob because he’s going to Fremont Lake to check the water level. He turned the ditch up. The lake is down. Over on Skyline drive we came upon Brian Nesvick’s horses. We caught a couple, called 911 to get his phone # and he came..as did Penny. An under sheriff came too. We led them down to Grace Anderson’s where they’d escaped her field. Brian needs to do something with that fence. Bob fertalized the yard this morning. Brian and Kirshna called to invite us to lunch. We had a great visit with them, and they brought us a bunch of rhubarb. Yeah!!! We got home in time to load the car with picnic stuff, check the ditch and head for New Fork Lake. Michael et al beat us there by well over an hour. The kids were fishing, throwing rock and Palmer was "chopping" wood. He has his own hatchet, and is a true woodsman when armed with that. We had a great supper...visit, and just enjoying the country. The moon came up over the lake as we sat by the fire. The guys told Palmer hunting stories, and he wanted more. It was almost midnight when we got home.
