A trip to the Upper Green!

Cleaned house for bridge tomorrow..or at least started. I've been doing things like a cupboard or closet...but the windows and floors etc are in bad need of help. Went to town to get a few things at the store and visit Ruth, who I couldn't find. They finally decided she was doing a bath. Visited Pat briefely. Went to the Forest Service for snowmaching maps. After lunch as I was starting on windows, Bob says...Lets go snowmaching! Of all times. Well, why not? We headed up country...and it was ohh so gorgeous. We went to Todd Stern's cabin where he feeds elk on Moose Creek, near Green River Lakes.
We did catch him home. He'd spent the night at the upper lake. He is feeding about six hundred elk. They nearly all left, then when it started snowing again, they came back.
The above photo is the confluence of Wagon Creek and the Green River. It was the southern most edge of one of our pastures when we were at the Mosquito Lake Cow Camp. Check out some of the snow drifts.
The Green River Bridge.
More drifts on the Green! It was a gorgeous day...and who cares what the house looks like!!!

Clear to the top!

Brent is ready to head up the hill in the 600 improved stock class. He made it to the top in 117.96 seconds. Yeah Brent! What was your time 20+ years ago going over the top? Oh, and in case you can't read what is written on the back of his jack under Cheeney Racing, it says, "My drinking team has a racing problem"!! Love it! Cheeney Racing! Betty, Jace, Brent and Scott! Thanx for indulging me for this picture, guys!
Scott and Jace after Scott made his run. He took second in the 700 stock class with 113.61 seconds.

The Jackson hill climb

The plan was, Charm would snowmachine in from Boulder Lake, pick us up and we'd head to Jackson for the Hill Climb. Today Jim is climbing the hill. When Charm called to say she was leaving (as I was setting breakfast on the table) she said she was nervous about seeing while riding out as it was snowing hard there. Two minutes later it hit here! See below. She got here in a timely fashion. Up at Cliff Creek we came across this. The roads were dicie but doeable.
Jim is # 49 with a helmet on in the pit. This only shows a small portion of the pit.
Jim waiting to go to the gate. Carol Lane beside him.
Scott and Brent giving Bo last minute tips. He took second in the amature avent. Way to go Bo!
I'm sticking Dave's picture here for his mom in case she checks in here!

Mixed Media Tues

This is the barn on the New Fork property we had that we sold to Liz and Jim. I'd painted this picture fifteen years ago, and somehow it got left in Tucson. I couldn't find my source picture, but I had a picture of the painting, so I redid it yesterday. The original painting had some things I didn't like. But this doesn't have the character the original did either...maybe I'll do another sometime. Anyhow, yesterday was a fun day. Kay Meeks, Dee Parker, Wanda Ramsey, Ruth Rawhauser, Charm McLellen, Sandy Bousman, Jo Mack and myself were at Rendezvous Point for the day. Those gals did some neat stuff, that hopefully you'll see at our show next fall.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to all who comes here! I don't have a good Easter picture, but I took this yesterday. Some of you will recognize the horse...! :) She also got her feet trimmed. Cheeneys will be here for dinner. The only eggs will be in the form of deviled eggs..no egg hunting here. Isn't that sort of sad!

More pictures of Nancy's Surprise bd party

Troy and Jane hung the poster! Nancy blows out the candles...well sort of!!
Gismo spends the weekend...and has fun doing so!
I spent an extra day in Cheyenne due to weather. That was not a bad thing! It's great to be there with them! The trip home Monday was easy after I got over the summit! Saw elk about forty miles south of Pinedale...I've always heard about that bunch, but have never seen them before.
Yesterday was a catchup day here. I missed a painting session at Lynn's, but I guess the others did too! Darn. Well, we'll do that another time Lynn!
Bridge today at Wilma's. There was a little snow this morning, but not enough for Bob to go to the airport. Was enough to cover the dirty spring snow, however! It's gorgeous out!

Nancy's Surprise Birthday Party

Had a good trip to Cheyenne. Saw two wolves at Elk Mountain. Two big black wolves, standing on one of the drifts created by the snow fences there. Scott tells me the powers who be insists they don't have wolves down this far. Sound familiar?

Nanc's party was a success! She squealed when she saw me there. That made me feel good.

The kids were glad to see me too...that made my day!

Dino and Marsha get married!

Dino and Marsha were married on Sommers' ranch this afternoon about six p.m. We were having dinner with Jamie and Rita and then were joined by the wedding party.
The wedding cake was a complimentary dessert, but served as such. Congratulations Dino and Marsha! We wish you all the best!
Dino is showing us the pictures of the wedding which Sue took. There were some good ones. They were married by Sally, from Ridley's store.

Scott wins 1st!

Got this email from Betty! Way to go Scott! If Betty sends photos, I'll post some!

Just thought I would send a quick note that Scott won his first Pro Class this weekend at Bear Lake. He turned Pro last year and has had several seconds, thirds, forths and fifths, but he took first in 700 improved yesterday! Todd Tupper has been the pro to beat for years and has dominated that class the last several years. Scott's dream has been to beat Tupper while he was still in his prime ( he is like 36 years old). After Scott beat him, Todd came over and shook Scott's hand and said, " I knew you were coming, I just hoped it wasn't today!" It was pretty cool! Anyway, Scott got the 1st and also pulled a forth in 700 stock. Brent got forth in 600 improved, ( he had a cold and took benedryl, not good for racing!)
