Betty and Brent to the rescue!

This has been quite a day. Way into the morning last night, it was raining. Hence, black ice all over. Just across the road from the airport, we came across this accident. These guys were not hurt...they just had a snowmachining day interrupted. We stopped to make sure no one was injured, and to see if they needed a cell phone. Negative on all accounts. An ambulance and two sheriffs arrived soon. We headed to the feedground. The trail was difficult to see, and it was an extreme white-out. Bob is good in those conditions, and he did well. When we got back to the truck with the snowmachines, our hide-a-key was missing, and the truck was locked. Betty and Brent to the rescue. They were preparing to go to Bud's funeral, but decided to help us instead. I didn't make the funeral either. We'll all send cards explaining.

More snow

We snowmachined in to the feedground this morning. We also fed 80 bales of hay. Bob tried to count our elk, but they were milling all over the place. Later he plowed snow at the airport. I drove down after him, and we went to Big Piney for his blood test. I'm taking a pie in for Bud's wake that will be tomorrow afternoon. If we get down from feeding in time, I'll be there.

Last drive to the feedground for 05

Well, we barely made it to the feedground this morning. It only snowed several inches on our road, but we were sort of on the edge anyhow, and today is our last day of the year driving to the feedground. Tomorrow we take snowmachines. Bob plowed snow at the airport in the p.m. I went to town, paid our taxes, shopped, and went to the bank to put the cds in the safe box. Worked all afternoon trying to get my wireless router to work, and it still isn’t. Humm. I may need a receiver of some kind to plug in the computer. Worked with Joella on the phone too, and she’s not hooked up either. Something wrong with the mapping, centurytel said. We fed 70 bales today.

A Nice Christmas

Bob and the chocolate fountain..what a hit!

I have to put this card here. It's great. You'll probably need to click on the image to enlarge it, to be able to read it. It's worth reading.

More of Xmas Eve

Thought I should put the Christmas Eve Yatzee picture on. I got last in every game. Bob smoked one game...and the rest were even. We're headed to Cheeneys for prime rib! Wow! Gorgeous day at the feedground. Many many elk...one of the most awesome skies on the way up I've ever seen.

Christmas Eve

Well, our elk came in today. We didn't get a count on them...but there were lots. Over six hundred, I'm sure.

My high spot of today was running into Ruth Wilson Oliver, as I went to the store. Got a lump in my throat, it was so good to see her.

Cheeneys are coming over for dinner and poker tonight. Can hardly wait!!!

Palmer goes to the feedground

Last night Brian and Krishna came out for a couple of hours. We looked at his Africa pictures, and visited about his hunting and plans. What an enjoyable evening. This morning we picked up Michael and Palmer and they went to the feedground with us. We were hoping for lots and lots of elk. Our herd was way down today...it is awfully warm today and yesterday. Almost 40 degrees. I'm sure they're off doing elk things in the mountains. Anyhow, we had a good time, and Palmer thought he saw lots of elk. We'll take him back when there are lots of elk.

Winter solstice

After feeding elk today...we drove over to Charm and Jim's for Charm's birthday party, ie, her winter solstice party. She does this yearly, and it is a great time. She's one of the finest cooks around, bar none. This is a poor birthday picture of her, but it records the event. Jim was showing us his radio controled airplane.

Monday the 19th

This is a photo of the wreck on the Cora hill, as we were returning home from Jackson. There were several ambulances, lots of fire trucks, and cops. It was dark, and we were unable to get a grip on what happened. There was a pickup off the hill to the east...on it's wheels...front end smashed up.

Bob got the green light to work on strengthening his hand. Heidi thinks he is doing well, and as expected. Ran into Stan Murdock. Also, we saw 2 black wolves, six moose and two elk on our drive home.

Dec 18th..

We enjoyed the day at the feedground today. We took a friend with us..Dino Stauffer! Hope he enjoyed being there as much as we enjoyed having him. We visited and did picture transfers after lunch. Later I worked in my silver shop. I have several projects, and it was fun to get back to them.
